My Life

Well, you don't want a complete autobiography -- but here are a few facts beyond those already mentioned in other sections. I've had a lot of formal education: a Ph.D. in anthropology from U.C. Berkeley, an M.P.H. and M.S. from the Harvard School of Public Health. Although I've been writing and sharing what I write with others for as long as I can remember, I didn't start trying to publish commercially until 1984. I've had a lot of other jobs -- at various times I've worked as a maid at Yosemite, as a clerk at an automobile agency, as an archeologist, and as a evaluator of programs at a mental health center. I've reorganized the administration of an orthodox yeshiva and a university career counselling center. I helped a physician specializing in hypnotherapy develop a line of tapes. I enjoyed every job, but have never found anything I love as much as I love writing (except being a mom).

It's lucky that writing is such a portable career -- it lets me travel with Larry. I think we lead a charmed life: both of us working at what we enjoy doing most, and having the chance to explore places and make friends all around the globe.
